Benefits of Ethernet over Copper
Ethernet over Copper (EoC) is a kind of Ethernet in the initial mile connection that makes use of twisted copper telephone cable pairs that are normally already located at lots of service areas. It is generally quicker to provide EoC than to construct brand-new fiber circuits in older service locations.
Ethernet over Copper is a trusted and fully grown modern technology providing the same features as typical T1 lines: dedicated, symmetrical, and full duplex. Its major advantage is that Ethernet over Copper is supplied over copper pairs of DS0 so EoC does not require pricey fiber build outs. Another great benefit over conventional T1 lines is that an Ethernet circuit is much easier to upgrade. With the typical bonded T1, an upgrade in circuit bandwidth can take months because the regional telephone company has to install extra circuits. With an Ethernet circuit, the port speed could commonly be raised as merely a configuration change at the central office. Ethernet over Copper runs over several pairs of copper so if one pair goes down, the data transfer readily available does go down yet you do not loose the entire circuit as you would certainly with a T1 line. Ethernet over Copper prices is much below that of bonded T1 circuits of the very same speed. EoC circuits have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) much like T1 lines usually with the exact same guarantees.
